New Delhi, Oct 3(ANI): New Zealand netball player Laura Langman has denied talks that the netball tournament at the Delhi Commonwealth Games was "highly doubtful".
Langman said that from what she had seen, the courts were fine and there were no obvious issues. We were at the games venue the other day and we didn't see any issues," Stuff.co.nz quoted Langman, as saying. As far as we're concerned we're ready to go day one and as far as we know the facilities are too," he added.
International Federation of Netball Associations boss Lindy Murphy had earlier said that if the lackadaisical approach to the finishing touches continued, the games would be delayed.
She also said that when she inspected the court in June it was a shambles, and she fears the same problems would occur during the games.
"At this stage, with where we're at, I don't know how we could start; we couldn't," Murphy had said.
"These people just have no concept of how high performance sport works. They dont know how the jigsaw fits together and that's been my main concern from day one," she added.
The Australia team will play the opening game of the tournament against Samoa on Monday. (ANI)
