New Delhi, Oct. 2 (ANI): Patients in Deendayal Upadhayay hospital suffered as around 250 doctors went on strike, after a patient and his attendant reportedly assaulted a doctor.
All the emergency services were suspended soon after the incident took place on Friday.
"The doors are locked and there is no doctor or gatekeeper. We are very tense," said Vimla Devi, a patient.
J. D. Singh, the hospital's Medical Superintendent, said that doctors are demanding improved security at the hospital.
"We are not aware of all of their demands but they are basically demanding security. They are saying the security is not sufficient in the hospital. It should be improved more so that we could find ourselves more protected," said Singh.
The strike has not been called off so far despite the management's attempts at negotiating with the doctors. (ANI)
