Srinagar/Lucknow, Sep 30 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday expressing grief over the recent killing of youths in the Kashmir Valley said the deaths were 'uncalled for'.

"The death of 109 people has really pained me. Only my God knows just how sad I am at the killings. It seems like someone reached inside my heart and took out 109 pieces," said Abdullah, while addressing the State legislative assembly here today.

At least 93 people have died in the last three months. The Kashmir Valley has also been subjected to a series of shutdowns and frequent curfews during this period.

Omar Abdullah also appealed to the people to maintain peace and calm as the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court in the Ram Janambhoomi-Babri Masjid title suit.

"The court's ruling must be accepted by all. If someone wants to appeal to the Supreme Court after the verdict, he or she is welcome to do so. But, there must be no violence and peace and tolerance must prevail throughout the nation. The verdict must be accepted as it is, since there are always legal remedies available," said Abdullah.

Earlier today, the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court ruled by majority that the disputed land in Ayodhya be divided into three parts.

The high court bench decided to divide the disputed 2.7 acres of land into three parts, with each of the three parties to the suit getting a part of it.

Hindus, the Sunni Waqf Board and the Nirmohi Akhara, will each get one part of the disputed land.

The ownership of the disputed land has been divided as follows: (1) Ram Lala, the birthplace of Lord Ram, given to Lord Ram (2) Sita Rasoi and Ram Chabootra to Nirmohi Akhara and (3) The remaining part to be given to the Sunni Waqf Board.

Meanwhile, there will be a status quo in Ayodhya for three months during which a petition can be filed. (ANI)
