PCB likely to remove assistant coaches Aaqib Javed, Aijaz Ahmed

Lahore , Thu, 30 Sep 2010 ANI

Lahore, Sep 30 (ANI): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is likely to sack its assistant coaches- Aijaz Ahmed and Aaqib Javed, sources at the board have disclosed.

While Ahmed and Javed will not be part of the Pakistan cricket team to UAE on its next tour, PCB Chairman Ijaz Butt will make a formal announcement in this regard on his return from England, The News reported.

Meanwhile, it appears that the selection committee, just like senior players in the squad, is also unhappy with the attitude of the team's coach, Waqar Younis.

According to sources close to the Pakistan team management, Younis had deliberately dropped all-rounder Abdul Razzaq during One Day International (ODI) matches against England.

On the other hand, the coach had aired reservations about the team selected for the one-day series, the paper said.

Taking view of this emerging crisis within the team, the Selection Committee has now decided not to invite Waqar Younis to its meeting to decide on the squad for the upcoming series against South Africa. (ANI)
