Sydney, Sep 30 (ANI): The venue for the first India-Australia, the Mohali stadium, has more grass on its pitch, that may encourage the touring team to choose three fast bowlers and spinner Nathan Hauritz.
"We'll wait and have a look at it tomorrow, but I'd probably expect that we'd go with the three (quicks) and one (spinner), that's probably our normal set-up," said Australian coach Tim Nielsen.
"The 2008 (Test pitch) was quite a white wicket actually, this probably has a bit more grass on it and that's as I say while we'll wait until tomorrow before we have any final decision on a team," The Sydney Morning Herald quoted him, as saying.
"They'll probably leave a bit more grass on it now until tomorrow afternoon, we're lucky enough to be training then so we'll see it before it goes under the covers for the final time tomorrow night," Nielsen added.
Nielsen said the balance of the Australian team had improved, with Marcus North's off spin becoming a viable support option in addition to the left-arm occasional spinners Simon Katich and Michael Clarke.
"I think we showed in Australia that it's the balance of our attack that's getting closer and closer to where we want it to be. We've got (Shane) Watson bowling more, we probably need to be a bit more consistent both our quicks and our spinners than we were against Pakistan," he said.
"In 2008 that was probably the difference in a couple of Tests we didn't win we had sessions where they got away from us, and an hour's worth of bad cricket here can take you two days to catch-up, because it just gets away so quick," he said. (ANI)
