Haddin to make comeback after recovering from injury

Sydney, Wed, 29 Sep 2010 ANI

Sydney, Sep 29 (ANI): New South Wales skipper Brad Haddin, who is Australia's first-choice wicketkeeper, will make his long-awaited comeback since suffering a tendon injury in his elbow in a 2nd XI fixture against Victoria next week on Monday.

Haddin has been sidelined by a tendon injury in his elbow, and has not played since the final of the ICC World Twenty20 in the West Indies in May.

The four-day fixture, starting next Monday at Blacktown Olympic Park, will be Haddin's first step as he aims to regain his Test position ahead of this summer's Ashes series," The Sydney Morning Herald reports.

During that time, Tim Paine has taken over behind the stumps for Australia in all three formats, and made an impressive start to his Test career against Pakistan in England.

Haddin had been hopeful of being fit for the series against India, but is now expected to make his Test comeback for the first Ashes Test at the Gabba in late November. (ANI)
