London, Sep 28 (ANI): In his quest for another Formula One title, ace driver Fernando Alonso has promised to stay calm despite the Ferrari team's jubilation over his sensational win in Singapore.
Alonso resisted pressure from Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel throughout the two-hour race to win the Singapore Grand Prix.
With three wins in the last five races and his first back-to-back triumphs for two years, Alonso said his victory was "very significant".
He pointed out that Singapore was a completely different type of track than the flat-out venue of the previous race at Monza, The Sun reports.
Alonso, who is behind only Red Bull's Mark Webber in the title race, knows five drivers are still in contention for the crown and anything can happen.
"The dance towards the title sees the contenders see-sawing up and down, although Mark is still holding on to a slight lead. We must stay calm and concentrate on our own job without thinking about what the others are doing," he said.
"The rest of us need to keep catching if we can. We will do our best, although we do not know if it will be enough to be champion in Abu Dhabi," he said. (ANI)
