English village locals fuming over Spielberg movie shooting

London, Tue, 28 Sep 2010 ANI

London, Sept 28 (ANI): Steven Spielberg's filming of his new movie has caused quite a hue and cry amongst village locals in Castle Combe, Cotswolds.

The 63-year-old director is filming the movie adaptation of theatre hit War, but his army of production staff and actors have turned the pristine village into a high-security nightmare.

Residents are now furious at the rules being imposed on them, including military-style roadblocks, which are restricting access to their own homes.

"It makes me so angry that I can't even take my car out of my drive. The level of security is ridiculous. I'm ready for them to leave now," The Daily Express quoted one local as saying.

Many of the houses' exteriors have been changed too, altered with fake wisteria attached to them. But as their patience wears off, people are fed up with how the film is changing the village. (ANI)
