Melbourne, Sept.25 (ANI): It seems threats of terrorism or stadium construction woes aren't enough to stop adventurous Australians from heading to Delhi for the XIXth Commonwealth Games.
Travel agencies yesterday reported no cancellations on return flights to India.
Fox Sports quoted a Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade spokeswoman, as saying that over 1000 Australians travelling to India were registered on the federal Government's smarttraveller.gov.au website.
She said numbers were expected to rise closer the Games.
Australian Federation of Travel Agents chief executive Jayson Westbury said he was not surprised people were not cancelling.
"It's an event that only happens every four years. There's a risk to travel to an event of this scale and Delhi is no different. People just have to make sure they check the smarttraveller website and read the travel warnings," he said. (ANI)
