Brit snooker star O'Sullivan petrified of missing cues over match-fixing backlash

London, Fri, 24 Sep 2010 ANI

London, Sep 24(ANI): British snooker star Ronnie O'Sullivan has admitted that he is terrified of being falsely accused of match-fixing after missing 'some easy balls'.

O'Sullivan beat Jimmy White 3-1 on Thursday to reach the last 16 of the World Open in Glasgow.

The Rocket is just one of the top stars to be haunted by the John Higgins affair.

Three-times world champion Higgins was at the centre of snooker's worst match-fixing scandal before he was finally cleared of the most serious charges.

"Jimmy and I both missed some easy balls. It entered my mind that someone might think they're not getting players trying their hardest," The Sun quoted O'Sullivan, as asying.

"Anything is missable, but the seed has been planted now," he added.

The three-time world champion will now face seven-time world champion Scot Stephen Hendry on Friday. (ANI)
