Mumbai, Sep.22 (ANI): The Ganesh Chaturhti festival concluded here in Maharashtra on Wednesday, as hundreds of thousands of devotees participated in religious processions taken out to bid farewell to Lord Ganesha with deep respect on this occasion.
At different places, large number of devotees took out religious proecessions in which they carried their Lord Ganesha statues, whom they worshipped for many days, and finally immersed them at the nearest water source today.
In Mumbai, a huge gathering of devotees bid goodbye to renowned Lal Bagucha Raja idol or, the King of Lal Bagh, regarded as one of the biggest idols in Maharashtra.
Devotees, who turned up in large numbers on this occasion, carried the giant idol to the Chowpatty with fervour.
Lal Bagucha Raja holds a lot of importance, as the devotees believe that all their prayers to Him would be answered and wishes fulfilled.
Meanwhile, the series of immersions continue till the wee hours in the morning.
The Vinayaka Chaturhti also referred as Ganesha Utsava was formally performed on September 12 this year and for the next 10 days thousands of devotees visited the various community Puja pandals erected all over the Mumbai. (ANI)
