Islamabad, Sep 22 (ANI): Pakistan Sports Minister Ijaz Jakhrani has vowed to 'take strong action' against anyone in the team found guilty of spot-fixing, in the investigation being conducted by Scotland Yard.
"Four of our players are under investigation and Scotland Yard has given an initial report to the Crown Prosecution for further action," the Daily Times quoted Jakhrani, as saying in parliament.
"We are waiting for the investigation to complete and if any player is found guilty then we will take strong action," he added.
Jakhrani also criticised the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and said it should "take responsibility" for what happened in England.
Meanwhile, lawmakers have demanded a clean up in the cricket squad. "Allegations of players taking money have put us to shame, and there is a responsibility to clean up the team and the game, which is an obsession in the country," said Hanif Abbasi, member of the Pakistan Muslim League-N party.
Several members of the lower and upper houses of parliament have demanded the resignation of PCB chairman Ijaz Butt in the wake of spot-fixing scandal engulfing Pakistani cricket. (ANI)
