Lahore, Sept 19 (ANI): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has denied receiving any information from Scotland Yard on the initial evidence on the spot-fixing allegations against three Pakistan cricketers, which it has passed on to the Crown Prosecutor's Office in London.
"We have just come to know that the Scotland Yard has passed on an initial file of evidence to the prosecutor's office which will decide if there is a case to be made out against the players," the Daily Times quoted PCB legal adviser Tafazzul Rizvi, as saying.
"But so far we don't know what the file is about and until we get a clear statement from the prosecutor's office I can't make anymore comments on it," added the lawyer.
Commenting on the latest spot-fixing accusations by a tabloid, following the third one-day international against England at the Oval, Rizvi said that the allegations appeared to be false.
"At this stage we don't believe these latest allegations that our players did any fixing in the third one-day match against England. We feel at this stage these allegations appear unfounded," he noted.
So far, Scotland Yard has interrogated four Pakistani players- Mohammad Aamer, Mohammad Asif, Salman Butt and Wahab Riaz, over claims that they took money to deliberately bowl no-balls against England at Lord's last month. (ANI)
