Auckland, Sep 13(ANI): New Zealand skipper Daniel Vettori and wicket-keeper-turned specialist batsman, Brendon McCullum will return for next month's tour of Bangladesh.
The tour would also see the comeback of Jesse Ryder, who missed July's tri-nations series with India and Sri Lanka due to an elbow injury.
The features of the Black Caps one-day squad are the inclusion of fast bowler Hamish Bennett, and the late withdrawal of all-rounder Scott Styris with a partial stress fracture to his lumbar spine.
Styris faces six to eight weeks of strengthening work before he can start bowling again.
"Hamish Bennett reminds me a bit of Kerry Walmsley. He has a high arm, bowls full and straight and just gets it to swing away a tad. He has a knack of getting good players out too," Stuff.co.nz quoted Mark Greatbatch, Chairman of selectors, as saying.
The tour, from October 1-17, includes a warm up match and five One-Day Internationals.
New Zealand squad to tour Bangladesh: Daniel Vettori (captain), Hamish Bennett, Grant Elliott, Brendon McCullum, Nathan McCullum, Andy McKay, Kyle Mills, Jesse Ryder, Aaron Redmond, Tim Southee, Shanan Stewart, Ross Taylor, Daryl Tuffey, B.J. Watling and Kane Williamson. (ANI)
