London, Sep 11(ANI): Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has said that captain John Terry had made the 'right decision' while opting out of England's Euro 2012 qualifiers to recover from his hamstring injury.
Terry had missed England's opening qualifiers against Bulgaria and Switzerland, which the Three Lions won 4-0 and 3-1 respectively.
"He (Terry) took the right decision with the national team. He has to have more recovery time than when he was 25. It's normal behavior," The Sun quoted Ancelotti, as saying. He needs to have more rest if he wants to stay at the top level for a long time," he added.
Ancelotti further insisted that he would not select an unfit player in the final XI. Terry is a player with a strong character. He's a player who loves to play for the shirt, but he has to be realistic," he added.
He also expects England manager Fabio Capello to select Terry for next month's Euro 2010 qualifier against Montenegro. (ANI)
