Srinagar, Sep 11 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman Yasin Malik and All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) moderate faction chief Mirwaiz Umar Farooq have deplored the ongoing unrest in the Kashmir Valley.

Malik has urged India not to push the people of Kashmir towards gun and violence, and said that they should rather think of appropriate solutions.

"I want to appeal to India, political parties of India and the people of India that not to push the people of Kashmir towards the guns again. Rather try to solve the issue of Kashmir without wasting any time. These youth and the protestors should be provided with a space where they can protest or demand," said Malik, while addressing a congregation here.

Farooq also condemned the recent killings and demanded a permanent solution to the Kashmir imbroglio.

"There are only two ways, according to the constitution of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference also, there are only two ways to solve the Kashmir problem. Either they should follow the charters of the United Nations or all the three, India, Pakistan and Kashmiris should sit together to solve the problem, otherwise no solution can be drawn by bipartite talks between India and Kashmiris," said Farooq.

The duo took part in a protest march against the killings after addressing Friday prayers.

Police imposed restrictions on the movement of people in nine districts of the Valley as a precautionary measure. Curfew, however, was lifted in the Kashmir Valley on Thursday morning.

So far, about 69 people have been killed during the ongoing unrest in the Valley. (ANI)
