Washington, Sept 4 (ANI): Despite having a perception that President Barack Obama has not done much to improve the economy, 54 percent of Americans think that economy would have been the same today if McCain was in his position, according to a new Fox News poll.
With the mid-term elections just two months away, the state of the economy continues to dominate other concerns for most American voters.
The poll shows that out of eleven concerns, the greatest one is the nation's economy, with 47 percent saying that the Omaba administration has made the economy worse while 36 percent say the economy is better.
Sixty-three percent of Democrats say the Obama administration has made the economy better while 43 percent Independents oppose the notion.
A majority, 57 percent, think the 800 billion dollar economic stimulus plan hasn't worked. Just over one in three, 37 percent, however, think it has helped the economy.
A majority, 70 percent, have opposed a second stimulus plan while 24 percent is in favour of it.
With the economic recovery seemingly stalled, nearly 61 percent are concerned about the administration's ability to deal with the situation while only 32 percent of voters are confident the Obama administration can handle the economy.
Another major concern is unemployment (49 percent very concerned and 43 percent extremely concerned).
In addition, more than 9 in 10 voters are concerned about "the future of the country" (48 percent very concerned and 43 percent extremely concerned). (ANI)
