Tiger Woods' ex-wife to open mental health clinic for children

New York, August 30 (ANI): Tiger Woods' ex-wife Elin Nordegren is all set to open a mental health clinic for children.

Nordegren, whose divorce was finalized last Monday, is considering spending some of her 65 million dollars settlement to set up a clinic providing mental-health counseling to underprivileged families in Florida, according the Sunday Times of London.

The 30-year-old Swede will complete a degree in mental-health counseling at Rollins College near Orlando, Fla., by Christmas, after which she can apply to become a professional therapist.

Associates say Nordegren has been discussing with her twin sister, Josefin, a London-based lawyer, how she might use part of her settlement to help broken families and, in particular, children.

"Elin has a lot of ideas, including setting up her own clinic to help poorer children suffering from mental illnesses such as depression, eating disorders and hypertension, which can result from living in a broken family," the New York Post quoted one of her campus colleagues as saying.

"Maybe it's not surprising, but she feels strongly that children are the real victims when marriages fail," the colleagues added. (ANI)
