Sania lands up in controversy again over an ad film

Dec 12: India’s tennis sensationSania Mirza and Mecca Masjid, a famous mosque of Hyderabad, which has been in the top news since May 18 twin blast earlier this year, both are yet again in the lime light after the care taker of the mosque has filed a complaint on Tuesday in the local police station.

The Assistance Commissioner of the Police (ACP), B Reddenna told the reporters that Sheikh Kareemullah, Hyderabad district minority welfare officer yesterday filed a complaint in Hussaini Alam police station against Sania Mirza and a famous Advertising Agency for performing an advertising shooting in the mosque premise without taking prior permission from the related authorities.

"Though they did not cause any disturbance and taking photo of the premise is not prohibed, yet we are looking in this matter whether it constitutes a trespass”, said Reddenna.

The mosque employees also complained about the misbehaviour of the shooting team quoting, “The attitude of some of the members of shooting unit was also objectionable”, said police official. They allegedly wore shoes inside the mosque as mentioned in the complaint.

The shooting unit had informed the local police for performing the shooting but they did not inform the same to Minority Welfare Commission, which take cares of the religious matters.

The shooting also aroused protest by Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM), a powerful Muslim political party in the state and they said, “This is an attack on the sanctity of the mosque and it has hurt the religious sentiments of Muslims.”

“Sania is free to act in any commercial but mosque can not be used for such activities,” said MIM legislator Ahmed Pasha Khadri.

On the other hand, no reactions have come either from Sania or the members of her family on this matter, as none of them were present in the city.

Mecca Masjid is a famous and one of the biggest mosque of the city and always been the center of attraction of the visitors, but when a twin bomb blast held on May 18 this year, it has been in news continuously since then.

Whereas, Sania has been the center of attraction of the controversies on various instances especially Muslim conventional has always criticised Sania for her short and appealing dresses (at the tennis court), for her frankness and once when she was about to play alongside an Israeli Jew Shahar Pe’er as a mixed doubles partner in Bangalore Open.
