South Africa to play additional T20 against Pak for flood relief during UAE series

Lahore , Fri, 27 Aug 2010 ANI

Lahore, Aug.27 (ANI): South Africa has agreed to play an additional T20 match against Pakistan during the forthcoming series in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to raise funds for the people affected by the devastating floods in Pakistan.

The Proteas will now play Pakistan in two T20 internationals, five one-day internationals and two Tests during October-November 'home' series.

"Our hearts go out to the people of Pakistan. This is only a small contribution but we hope it will play some part in alleviating the suffering of the Pakistani people," The Daily Times quoted Cricket South Africa (CSA) chief executive Gerald Majola, as saying.

Zimbabwe and New Zealand have already offered to play against Pakistan to help the victims of the deluge, which has killed at least 1,600 people and left more than four million homeless.

The West Indies Cricket Board has also offered its assistance, but nothing concrete has emerged yet. (ANI)
