Sydney, Aug 27(ANI): Australian batsman Mike Hussey insists that he is confident of a home victory in the Ashes, but shied away from repeating skipper Ricky Ponting's '5-0 clean sweep'.
"We go into every Test trying to win. That's what Ricky means," The Sydney Morning Herald quoted Hussey, as saying.
"I don't think he's making any claims were going to win 5-0, but our aim is to win every Test," he added.
The 35-year-old, who played in Australia's 5-0 win at home four years ago, further said that his team is capable of regaining the trophy without legends Shane Warne, Adam Gilchrist, Mathew Hayden and Glenn McGrath.
"I've got a very good feeling about the Ashes. A lot of legends left the team a few years ago, but we've been able to keep a core group of players together for a good couple of years now and we've been slowly building," Hussey said.
"We've built up a good base of fast-bowling stock. It holds us in very good stead. We've got the pain of losing last time as well," he added.
The first of the five match series will be held at The Gabba in Brisbane from November 25 to 29.
It will be followed by Tests in Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne and Sydney.
Two Twenty20 clashes and a seven-match one-day series have also been scheduled between Australia and England. (ANI)
