Washington, Aug 23 (ANI): A British teenager has created quite a flurry in Bollywood these days.
18-year-old Amy Jackson, a former winner of Miss Teen World, was discovered by director AL Vijay, who found her pictures on the website for the Miss England competition.
Before she knew it, she was on her way from Liverpool to India to play Amy Wilkinson in 'Madrasapattinam', a period drama set in the late 1940s.
The teen is exulted at her newfound success.
"I've done drama and acting classes in school but nothing on the scale of a movie," Sky News quoted her as saying.
Madrasapattinam topped the Bollywood box office when it was released in India in July, making Amy an instant celebrity.
"I am getting fan mail from 200 people a day. We did a tour in southern India last week to see the response of the audience. It was absolutely brilliant," said Jackson.
"There were thousands waiting outside the cinema and I don't know how many autographs I signed. It's surreal. Over here, I'm just a normal teenage girl but over there, I've turned into a big star," she added. (ANI)
