London, Aug 19 (ANI): Argentine striker Carlos Tevez, who has been appointed Manchester City captain for the season, has said that winning the Europa League with City would match his Champions League triumph with United.

He helped Manchester United beat Chelsea to win the biggest European club prize of in May 2009.
"My hope is that I win something with Manchester City. I want to win here just as I did with Manchester United. That is what we are here for. I would love to do it," The Sun quoted Tevez, as saying.
"All the games are important and all competitions are very important. But the manager has made it clear how important the Europa League is. This is only the first game. There is a long way to go," he said.
"But we have great players and there is excellent competition for places, which it is great to be a part of. For me, I am very happy to be the new captain. It was an honour when the manager asked me. For the players and the fans, I am very happy to be their captain," Tevez added.
Tevez is aware it will take time for the six new players signed by Manager Robert Mancini this summer to gel and pleaded for patience. (ANI)
