India enjoys warm and friendly relations with Mexico. President Pratibha Devisingh Patil visited Mexico in April 2008. Earlier Mexican President Felipe Calderon visited India in September 2007 when both countries elevated their relations to 'Privileged Partnership'.
These visits gave a fresh impetus to our bilateral relations when a number of agreements were signed and institutional mechanisms were set up to take forward our ongoing cooperation.
The bilateral trade in 2009 was 2.2 billion dollars (India's exports were 1.14 billion dollars and imports were of 1.08 billion dollars in 2009).
Total Indian investments in Mexico are in the range of 1.5 billion dollars mostly in IT, Pharmaceuticals, manufacturing and packaging sectors. (ANI)
