Lahore, Aug 12(ANI): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) are planning to hold an exhibition match to raise funds for the flood-affected in Pakistan.
The Pakistan team is currently on a tour of England.
The PCB said the proposed match would be between a Pakistan XI and an International XI featuring stars from various countries.
"PCB is working on a proposal along with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to organise an exhibition cricket match for the benefit of the millions of Pakistanis affected by the devastating floods in Pakistan," The Daily Times quoted a PCB statement, as saying.
"Proceeds from the match would go towards the rehabilitation of families displaced by the worst floods in the country's history," it added.
Over 1,600 people have been killed and 15 million affected as raging floodwaters continue to wreak havoc in Pakistan.
The United Nations (UN) had earlier said that Pakistan would need billions of dollars to recover from the unprecedented devastation caused by the deluge.
Relief and rescue work has been hit badly by continuous rains, particularly in the north western region. (ANI)
