Karachi, Aug 12(ANI): The Pakistan team remains hopeful that fast bowler Umar Gul will recover from his hamstring injury in time for the two Twenty20s and next month's ODI series against England.
Gul, who sustained the injury during the second Test at Edgbaston, has pulled out of the remaining two matches of the Test series.
Pakistan team manager Yawar Saeed said the fast bowler would be re-assessed on August 18 to determine his involvement in the five-match ODI series, to be held from September 5 to 22.
"Presently he has been advised rest for up to three weeks, but we will know the correct position next week on how much more time his recovery will take," The Dawn quoted Yawar Saeed, the Pakistan team manager, as saying.
"We are hoping he will be available for the Twenty20 and one-day series next month," he added.
Gul had earlier missed the Twenty20 World Cup in West Indies and the Asia Cup in Sri Lanka due to an elbow injury. (ANI)
