Islamabad, Jul 27 (ANI): Pakistan ODI and T20 skipper Shahid Afridi has expressed his happiness over team's series leveling performance against Australia at Leeds.
Speaking exclusively to PakPassion.net, Afridi stated that he had not been able to watch the whole match, but followed the score and action whenever he could.
"I was travelling from London to Dubai when the final day's play was going on and found out when I landed in Dubai that the boys had won. I was delighted for them and it was great that Pakistan has finally beaten Australia after so long in a test match," he said.
Afridi said that that he had been in contact with teammates via phone and congratulated them on the victory.
"Yes I spoke to a few of the boys after the win at Leeds, including Umar Gul, who I congratulated on scoring the winning runs. The spirits were high and morale was good. The boys were naturally very pleased and looking forward to the series against England," he said.
Afridi stated that he would be spending a few days in Dubai relaxing with friends and would fly out to Karachi in the next day or two. (ANI)
