London, July 27 (ANI): Israeli-American actress Natalie Portman has brushed aside rumours that she has been approached for lead role in a Hollywood remake of 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo'.
The first book in Stieg Larsson's Millennium Trilogy was made into a film in 2010 Larsson's native country Sweden, but American filmmakers are planning their own big budget version of the story.
David Fincher will direct the movie and Natalie Portman, Kristen Stewart and Carey Mulligan have all been rumoured to be battling out for the female lead role, Lisbeth, reports The Daily Express.
Portman admitted that she is a big fan of the book series but she insisted that she hasn't been approached for the Hollywood remake.
"I really like the books but I have not been approached at all so any of that is pure rumour," Portman told Moviehole.net. (ANI)
