London, July 25 (ANI): Formula One racing team McLaren has warned its racer Lewis Hamilton not to fall victim to the cult of celebrity and wreck his F-1 career.
According to News of The World, McLaren chief Martin Whitmarsh fears some managers will try to corrupt the sporting superstar and stop him becoming the greatest grand prix driver in history.
Whitmarsh said he wants Hamilton to put off the decision on a new management company until the winter so he can focus on his bid for the title.
Whitmarsh, 53, said: "I think there is a concern with some who want a slice of the Hamilton pie. I am still getting calls and letters every week from people keen to be Lewis's manager. In the end he may well choose one of the big, major companies that also operate outside of motor racing."
"I want Lewis to establish the management structure he wants in the winter. I don't want him doing it during the season and we as a team are helping him and taking that pressure off him for now. And, when he does, then I hope it is kept simple," he added. (ANI)
