Sydney, Jul 24 (ANI): The Ashes series will open to a packed house at the Gabba with less than 100 first-day tickets remaining on sale.
Four months before the series begins in Brisbane on November 25, cricket fans have already ensured a second straight opening day sell-out.
In 2006-07, the first three days of the First Test were sold out as Australia attempted to win back the Ashes, The Sydney Morning Herald reports.
Queensland Cricket boss Graham Dixon said the decision to have a priority sales period for the Australian Cricket Family followed by a general public on sale date had worked well.
"Four years ago the rush for Ashes tickets frankly overwhelmed everyone and wasn't really the ideal experience for our customers. This year has been a fairer and much more orderly experience," he said.
Dixon said there were still a good amount of tickets left for the second, third and fourth days but corporate interest had exceeded expectations. (ANI)
