New Delhi, July 23 (ANI): Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao has met Home Secretary G K Pillai in connection with the Indo-Pak talks held recently.
Nirupama Rao is understood to have briefed Pillai about Pakistan's reaction to his remarks that figured at the July 15 talks between External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna and his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
The meeting is being seen in many quarters as an effort by Nirupama Rao to break the apparent differences between the two ministries in the aftermath of the July 15 talks.
A controversy had erupted after Pillai had cited the information provided by accused Lashkar-e-Toiba recruit David C Headley regarding the involvement of Pakistan's spy agency - the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) -- and Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Saeed in the 26/11 attack during his interrogation in Chicago by FBI and Indian investigators.
He said that India was of the view that from the beginning of the 26/11 attack to its end, the ISI had had a significant role to play.
There has been a controversy over the timing of G K Pillai's disclosures. (ANI)
