Injured Hilfenhaus doubtful for Leeds Test against Pakistan

London , Sun, 18 Jul 2010 ANI

London, July 18(ANI): Australian fast bowler Ben Hilfenhaus is a doubtful starter for the second and final Test against Pakistan in Leeds, starting on Wednesday.

Hilfenhaus had played a key role by claiming top-order wickets in the first and second innings, as well as notching an unbeaten half-century with the bat on day three of the first Test at Lords.

The 27-year-old's last-day impact was limited due to an injury to his left non-bowling shoulder after diving full length at fine-leg to stop a boundary.

Skipper Ricky Ponting was however hopeful, and said that Hilfenhaus could have bowled again later in the day if required, but the real test will be how he recovers over the next couple of days.

"You won't stop him bowling, it does not matter what he does. He would have been fine to bowl [if required]," The Sydney Morning Herald quoted Ponting, as saying.

"He is a bit sore in his shoulder, they will probably have a look at it ... once it has cooled down and we'll know a bit more about it then, fingers crossed it's not too bad," he added.

Hilfenhaus finished with match figures of 3 for 74, more wickets than fellow fast bowlers Doug Bollinger and Mitchell Johnson. (ANI)
