India should call off dialogue with Pakistan says, Sushma Swaraj

New Delhi , Fri, 16 Jul 2010 ANI

New Delhi, July 16 (ANI): Leader of the Opposition and Senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj on Friday said that the India-Pakistan dialogue should be called off as Pakistan breached all diplomatic norms.

"We, not only the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) or the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) but the entire country is united in condemning the behaviour of Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi," Swaraj told a private news channel.

Earlier in the day, Qureshi has said that India was not ready to discuss specifics related to bilateral issues bedevilling ties between the two countries, and added that Islamabad was in no hurry to engage New Delhi again unless the dialogue was result oriented.

Qureshi's latest statement came a day after he had participated in a rather acrimonious joint press conference with his Indian counterpart S.M. Krishna.

Qureshi said that for Pakistan Kashmir security continues to be the core issue.

He also accused the Indian delegation of not being fully prepared for the dialogue, saying that Krishna seemed to be having difficulty as he had to constantly consult with and be directed by New Delhi during the talks in Islamabad on Thursday. (ANI)
