Dubai, Jul 12 (ANI): The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has decided to stage their home series in Dubai following their cricket counterparts after international teams stopped visiting the country due to security threats.
Following the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), who has been hosting their home series in UAE, the PHF has also decided to stage their home series at the Dubai Sports City hockey stadium.
"The PHF secretary is in Dubai to have a look at our facilities here. The discussions are only in the preliminary stages," said Maqbul Dudhia, the General Manager Sports Business of Dubai Sports City.
Dudhia, who is currently in Johannesburg, added: "The hockey stadium is only a few months away from being ready. The work on the hockey stadium has progressed much faster than the work on the academies that are getting ready at the Sports City."
The cricket stadium was the first to be completed at Sports City and it has already staged many international matches, Gulf News reports.
PHF Secretary Asif Bajwa met DSC officials to ensure that hockey players continue to get international exposure.
The PHF will also stage their training camps at Dubai Sports City before the start of every series. (ANI)
