Paris Hilton spots 'tiger' on safari

London, Sat, 10 Jul 2010 ANI

London, July 10 (ANI): Paris Hilton has become the subject of ridicule after she tweeted that she spotted 'tigers' while on safari in South Africa.

Hilton, 29, who has been in the country for the past week to watch the World Cup and take in the sights, described in her tweet what she saw during the safari, reports the Telegraph.

"So many amazing animals here - Elephants, Tigers, Zebras, Cheetahs, Rhinos, Hippos, etc. So awesome!" she tweeted.

While elephants, zebras, cheetahs, rhinos and hippopotami are in plentiful supply in South Africa, tigers - which are native to Asia - are not.

She did not mention where she, her sister Nicky and two cousins had embarked on safari, but she did realise her mistake after a while.

"I meant leapards," she wrote on Twitter an hour later, before correcting herself again.

"I meant leopards not tigers. : p. oops," she added.

But the spelling mistakes did not end there, as she went on to tweet about "Ella the Elaphant", "A Huge Cute Elaphant", before describing what she was doing.

"So amazing, sitting outside eating lunch and there are a family of 5 Elaphants only feet away from us. So incredible!" she stated. (ANI)
