India-lover Lee wants 2011 World Cup in Indian subcontinent to be his swan song

Sydney, July 10(ANI): Injury prone Australian fast bowler Brett Lee has said that he may retire from all forms of the game after the 2011 World Cup to be held in the Indian subcontinent.

The World Cup will be held next February and March in India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

"To me a world cup in India in 2011, because of my love for India and the stuff I do over there, it would be a great way to finish, I would have thought," The Sydney Morning Herald quoted Lee, as saying.

The 33-year-old, who has already retired from Test cricket, is adamant that at the moment he wants to represent Australia in Twenty20 and limited overs version of the game.

He also revealed that his fitness has improved to the extent that he might almost have been available for Australia's current tour of England.

"I've been training hard and I probably could have pushed to go over to England, but I thought I wanted to get a really good base behind me and get some stuff dome in the gym and get my fitness up to a level that I'm very happy with," The Sydney Morning Herald quoted Lee, as saying.

"Then looking forward to probably the next two to three months to do a comeback and sort of take it from there," he added.

Lee has been struggling with an arm injury, which had forced him to withdraw from this year's Twenty20 World Cup in West Indies. (ANI)
