Durban, July 8(ANI): Spanish coach Vicente Del Bosque has said that nothing beats reaching the World Cup final, "apart from winning it".
Spain booked a place in their first World Cup final by defeating three-time winners Germany 1-0 in Wednesday's semi-finals.
Carles Puyol's header in the 73rd minute set up an all-European final showdown with the Netherlands at Johannesburg's Soccer City on Sunday.
"We must celebrate the victory, but in moderation. There is nothing more difficult or precious than to win a World Cup, but we still have to play the final. We have to keep a balance and we'll keep our eyes wide open without being blinded by success," The Sun quoted Bosque, as saying.
"We cannot start bragging or get too conceited yet. We know what awaits us. We're in a World Cup Final," he added.
He further insisted his side would take nothing for granted against the Netherlands, despite them starting as clear favourites.
"Holland are a team that play excellent football and have been trying to become world champions for many years. They have an excellent record, so there will be two great teams trying to become champions for the first time," Bosque said.
"Germany was perhaps less strong than expected because our team did a great job. Bottom line was we played better than they anticipated," he added.
Spain are now aiming to become only the third side in history to complete an amazing European Championship and World Cup double, joining Germany and France. (ANI)
