London, Jul 6 (ANI): A teenage football fan was shot dead for blowing a vuvuzela after his team won a World Cup match, according to his father.
Asanda Cele, 14, was found in his alleged killer's garden after being shot twice in the head and once in the arm. He died later in hospital.
Dad Sandile said his son had watched South Africa's 2-1 victory over France on TV with friends and was returning to his home near Durban when he was gunned down by a local known to hate the notorious horns, The Mirror reports.
Sandile said: "Asanda loved football and always blew his vuvuzela, even if his team lost. But my neighbour, who'd just moved here, doesn't like the noise vuvuzelas make and I think that's why he killed Asanda.
"After the game my son and his friends allegedly went into the neighbour's yard, blowing their vuvuzelas. The boys say he was then shot."
The suspect was charged with murder then freed on bail, claiming he thought the boy was a robber. He will appear in court next month. (ANI)
