New Delhi, July 4 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Nitin Gadkari has termed the issue of Jaswant Singh for writing a book 'in praise' of Pakistan founder Mohammad Ali Jinnah, as closed chapter.

" What happened earlier is a past. The issue is closed now," Gadkari said in an interview.

"Jaswant Singh is a senior and experienced leader. At the time of foundation of the party, he was there. I respect him. Apart from his book, he is loyal to the party," he added.e further said that in a democratic party, every leader has the right to have different opinions.

" Everyone has some independent and different opinions. It never happens that 100 per cent opinions are same," he added.

Singh was summarily expelled by the BJP on August 19, 2009, for writing a book on Mohammed Ali Jinnah.

It contains controversial opinions of Singh, claiming that Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru's centralised policy was responsible for partition and that Jinnah was portrayed as a demon by India for the partition. (ANI)
