Johannesburg, July 2 (ANI): World Cup organizing chief Danny Jordaan has said that Ghana carries Africa's hopes and must do it, as they eye becoming the first team from the continent to enter the semi-finals of the World Cup being played on African soil for the first time.
"We have the prospect of Ghana going beyond the quarter-finals, a place where no African team has been," Sports 24 quoted Jordaan as saying.
"This is what we have always wanted to achieve in this African World Cup," he added.
Ghana's national football team known as the 'Black Stars' take on Uruguay in its quarter-final match on Friday that will grab the attention of the entire subcontinent. (ANI)
