Aussies can't afford to panic in Sunday's must-win game against England

Sydney, Jun 27 (ANI): Australian all-rounder Steve Smith has said that his side can't afford to panic in Sunday's must-win one-day clash against England at Old Trafford.

England leads the five-game series 2-0 and another victory will hand them psychological advantage ahead of the Ashes series.

Pacer Ryan Harris, who missed Thursday's game in Cardiff with groin soreness, is expected is sit out for Sunday's clash after walking laps at training on Saturday.

"We are 2-0 down and we are going to have to play some good cricket to get back in the contest," The Sydney Morning Herald quoted Smith, as saying.

"We have had a little team meeting today, you can't panic you just have to come out and try and play better cricket," he said.

The Old Trafford pitch has tended to have a bit of turn and bounce in it and the 21-year-old Smith said he hoped to make the most of the conditions on Sunday.

"It is going to be difficult, they are batting pretty well. I am going to have to bowl pretty well, apparently the pitch out here is supposed to turn a little bit so hopefully I will get a bit of turn and get a few wickets," he said. (ANI)
