Islamabad, Jun.9 (ANI): Electrifying Pakistan opening batsman Shahzaib Hasan Khan is delighted to have secured a place in the national squad for the upcoming Asia Cup, and believes that he has got the potential to perform in one-day matches even though he has not played a single fifty over match yet.
Shahzaib, who has just played four international T20 matches, said he is confident of doing well in the Asia Cup starting June 15, as he has been performing well at the domestic level.
"I am confident that I can play well in the 50 over format of the game. Whilst I have no international experience at the 50 over format, I'm sure that I can turn my recent good domestic form into runs at international level and I am ready for the challenge of 50 over international cricket," Shahzaib told PakPassion.net.
Speaking about Pakistan's chances in the quadrangular tournament involving arch rivals India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, he said the greenshirts would be going into the tournament with the aim of winning it and nothing less.
"The combination of the side is very good; we are going to Sri Lanka to win the competition, and not to make up the numbers," Shahzaib said.
Shahzaib also revealed that skipper Shahid Afridi has given him a 'talisman' of not letting any pressure or negative thought affect his performance.
"Shahid bhai has told me to be positive, and to bat with a positive attitude, which I think is an excellent advice and advice that I will take on board," he said. (ANI)
