India learnt nothing from 1962 Sino-Indian war, says RSS chief

Nagpur, Tue, 08 Jun 2010 ANI

Nagpur (Maharashtra), June 8 (ANI): Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Tuesday said the Government of India has not learnt from its mistakes during the 1962 Sino-Indian war.

Bhagwat said that China was laying railway lines close to its border with Arunachal Pradesh to ensure the supply of arms to its forces.

"In 1962, when the fully equipped Chinese soldiers climbed the Himalayas, in that chilled weather our government did not provide any warm clothes to our army because they were under the impression that peace prevails in the whole world, and as there is no use of army, they should be sent to the textile factory," said Bhagwat.

"We are still unprepared and haven't learnt from the mistakes made in 1962," he added.

Talking about the Maoists issue, Bhagwat said the Maoists want to come into power by threatening the Government. (ANI)
