New Delhi, June 1 (ANI): Railway Minister and Trinamool Congress president Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday skipped the Cabinet meeting which was convened to take a decision on recommending imposition of President's rule in Jharkhand.
According to sources, Banerjee was in Delhi when the Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh took place, but she did not attend.
Banerjee's action came a day after Home Minister P Chidambaram debunked the political conspiracy theory floated by her in connection with the Gyaneshwari Express derailment in Midnapore in which 148 persons were killed.
Chidambaram said: "Needle of suspicion is on Maoists. Maoist or frontal organisation are behind the train tragedy."
"Mamata Banerjee has asked for a CBI probe into the Jhargram incident. I have sought the West Bengal government's view on the CBI report into the incident," he added.
Banerjee had reportedly skipped quite a few Cabinet meetings last year. (ANI)
