London, Apr 25(ANI): Former English cricketer Bob Willis has said that he is not a huge fan of the Indian Premier League (IPL), and claimed the quality of some players representing the eight franchises is "rubbish".
"You have to remember that some of the four overseas players aren't the best, you may have two top-class Indian players, the rest are rubbish," The Independent quoted Willis, as saying.
"The standard of play is low and with 10 teams it will get worse. It's amazing they have the final they want, between Sachin Tendulkar and M. S. Dhoni," he added.
The 60-year-old, who spearheaded several England bowling attacks between 1971 and 1984, further reckons that the tournament is not for the fast and medium fast bowlers.
"There is almost no place for fast-medium bowling. It's just slow bowlers standing there and off two paces bowling unbelievable garbage and saying it's up to you to put pace on the ball," Willis said. (ANI)
