Johannesburg, April 25: Steyn Van Ronge, leader of the Afikaner Resistance party, has expressed fears over the rampant presence of Aids in South Africa and said it could jeopardize the safety of tourists visiting the country during the football World Cup.
South Africa will host the FIFA world cup in June this year.
Van Ronge said "Six million people here have it and more than 40,000 prostitutes will be imported for the World Cup. So if football fans coming here don't have high moral standards, they will go home and Aids will explode to the highest level ever seen. Millions of people will die".
Van Ronge further issued a cautionary word to English fans who plan to camp out saying that the law and order situation in the country is "totally out of control", News of the World reports.
He succeeds hardline politician Eugene Terreblanch after the latter was hacked to death by workers on his farm earlier this month. The newly inducted leader of the white supremacist group has said his party is not racist, but does believe in granting priority to the white race. (ANI)
