16.3 percent increase in China's media industry

Beijing, Fri, 23 Apr 2010 ANI

Beijing, Apr 23 (ANI): China's media industry output grew by 16.3 percent in 2009, with operating revenue from newspaper advertisements increasing by 8 percent to 37 billion yuan in spite of the global economic slump.

A report by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences on Wednesday said that a stable economic growth, especially in the fast development of sectors including property, automobiles and electronic products, was the main reason for the growth of China's media industry.

"In 2010, total output of China's media industry is expected to grow 14.5 percent year-on-year to 562 billion yuan, the report said," reports China daily. (ANI)
