New Delhi, Apr 22 (ANI): Pakistan Minister's for Population Welfare Firdous Ashiq Awan has said India and Pakistan should talk to challenge militancy.
"The mainstream leadership of both the countries has become a victim of terrorism. Now, both the countries have to sit together to deal the challenge of terrorism. Both governments of the countries have to find a treatment to this disease and for that composite dialogue is the answer and we should move in that direction," Awan told reporters.
"Terrorism was a global phenomenon and it needs to be addressed through a global strategy. No single country has the capacity to handle the menace single-handedly," she added.
If a meeting between leaders of both countries takes place, it would augur well for both the countries, she further said.
"If this (meeting between Indian and Pakistani Prime Ministers) would happen then it will be a good signal for both the countries," Awan said.
Emphasising the need for strong trade ties between India and Pakistan, she suggested that Pakistan could serve as a gateway for Indian goods to Central Asia. (ANI)
