Ruckus in Parliament over Dantewada massacre, adjourned till 12 noon

New Delhi , Thu, 15 Apr 2010 ANI

New Delhi, Apr 15 (ANI): Proceedings in Parliament were adjourned till 12 noon on Thursday after the Opposition questioned and criticized the UPA Government over its responses to the Dantewada Naxal attack in which 76 CRPF personnel have been killed.

In the Lok Sabha, Speaker Meira Kumar pointed out that Home Minister P. Chidamabaram would make a statement on the attack at 1 p.m. today.

Several other issues have also cropped up, causing discomfiture to the government. They range from the latest row over the IPL involving Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor to government's mobility to halt spiraling prices.

The passage of the Finance and the Women Reservation Bills in the Lok Sabha is also expected to hog the limelight.

The BJP and the Left have particularly decided to corner the government on the price rise issue.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister P K Bansal has appealed to the opposition to support ensure a running of Parliament.

"We may just have a wafer thin majority, but we have a majority.

This is known, and, we can't understand why the opposition is behaving like this, stalling and destabilising the government," Bansal said. (ANI)
