Happy for Button, Hamilton confident of own success

London, Fri, 02 Apr 2010 ANI

London, Apr. 2 (ANI): British F1 star Lewis Hamilton has claimed that he is not envious of McLaren team-mate Jenson Button for claiming the team's first win this season at the Australian GP.

"The fact is I have got a very competitive team-mate, which is great as it is what the team needs. Honestly, I was just so happy for Jenson because he is a great guy and a great part of the team," The Sun quoted Hamilton, as saying.

He, however, is confident that his own chances of victory are not too far away.

"I do feel at some stage that I will get my chance to win races and we are only two races into the season. Australia showed I definitely have the pace and at least I am as quick as the front guys," he said.

Hamilton, 25, endured a difficult weekend in Melbourne that began with him being arrested by police and ended with a frustrating sixth-placed finish.

"But definitely having a race like that lifts you up after a tough weekend overall. It gives you confidence that you are still there again," he said. (ANI)
